Ask a Librarian: Virtual Reference Service
Ask a Librarian is the Barcelona Provincial Council Network of Municipal Libraries online information service. The service is staffed by librarians, who reply to questions within 72 hours (although response time may be longer at weekends and during holidays. Anyone over 14 years of age can use the service.
You can ask your questions in Catalan, Spanish or English.

Basic information about data protection:
Party responsible for processing: BARCELONA PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
Purpose of the processing: to process your application and produce statistics related to the service.
Legitimation: to guarantee the territorial balance, the quality of library services and access to information, knowledge and culture for the entire public. This is the provincial councils’ public mission based on the Law 7/1985, of 2 April 1985, regulating the Rules of Local Government.
Recipients of the data: your data will be processed by the company OCLC (Online Computer Library Center), the supplier of the QuestionPoint web product, solely for the purpose of administering the service for which Barcelona Provincial Council has signed the relevant contract for the processing and protection of data.
Rights: you may exercise your rights of access, rectification and deletion, as well as any other rights recognised in the legislation.
