How can I obtain my library card?
You have two options to obtain your card of the Municipal Libraries Network. You can go to your nearest library where after showing your ID Card, they will make your library card, or, you can request it through internet by filling out the web form Get a library card. Filling the form gives you acces to virtual services instantly, and later to insite services when picking the card at a library
What do you need?
It is only necessary to show your ID card or any other official document to certify your identity: NIE, passport, driving licence or residence permission in which appears the postal address. In addition, besides, you must provide your phone number and email address .
Children under 14 years old need an authorization signed by the father, mother or legal guardian and bring the DNI/NIE if they have it. The authorization form must be filled out in the library.
Do I have to pick up it personally?
Yes, because at the moment of the collection, the library staff will show the equipment, explain services and answer any doubts about the library you may have.
Is it free?
Yes, 100% free! Only duplicates are paid.
Where can I use the card?
The card can be used in all public libraries in Catalonia.
What services can I use with the card?
The card allows you to use all those services from/of the public library which require identification: borrow documents, book internet computers and multimedia classrooms, enrol in courses and workshops, and use the Wi-Fi, access to your personal user data.
In addition, you can take advantage of many benefits and discounts.
Library staff may request cardholders to identify when they deemed necessary.
I lost the library card, what should I do?
It is necessary to go to your library with your ID card and you will receive another card upon payment of the current public price according to the rates of the Diputació de Barcelona. LThe cost of issuing each duplicate card is €1.
In case of theft a duplicate of the card will be free if you submit the complaint.
Can another person use my card?
The card is personal and non-transferable. The use of the card by other different to the cardholder may caus the service suspension. Only parents will be able to use their sons and daughters' to borrow documents aimed to children.
How long is the library card valid? When does it expires?
The library card has permanent validity and you don't need to renew it. Currently, there are different card models.
I have a membership card of the library and moved me to another site; may I use the same card?
Yes, the card is valid for all these libraries, no matter what library you have done firstly. The change of address can be notified in any library.
How can I generate a new PIN?
You can generate a new PIN from this link. You can only request a new PIN if your e-mail has already been included in our database. Otherwise, you can provide us with your e-mail at any of the libraries belonging to the Network.
If I want to unregister...
Any user who does not have any material borrowed from the Municipal Libraries Network can unsubscribe according to the right of cancellation of the General data protection regulation, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament.
Besides, in the event that any library card which in the last 5 years has not been used for of any service where the card is required, the cancellation will be automatically.
